A Review of (STAAS): Software Testing as a Service Model in Cloud Computing[ ]

The purpose of this paper is to review the latest trends in STAAS(Software Testing as a Service). Software testing (ST) is the process of identifying and delivering the software as a product based on the specification that has been given and required by the users. In order to ensure the product is working properly based on the user specification, there are many people who are working together and provide their services for a community of practice (CoP) purposes. The CoP in ST of cloud computing environment are including the software designer, programmer, and system tester as well as the software users by themselves. Based on this scenario of working together or working collaboratively in order to avoid a lot of mistakes or errors and causes the software failure, which may be found during the ST as a service (STaaS) process, so that there is a need for CoP to have a tool called Collaborative Knowledge Management System (CKMS) in managing the ST knowledge of best practice and lesson learnt. The paper will discuss a model on how the ST of CoP is offering its service of processes called STaaS through knowledge life cycle which starting from knowledge acquisition, knowledge storing, knowledge dissemination, and knowledge application in order to overcome any shortcoming faulty or failure especially during the software development and it implementation in a cloud computing environment. Therefore, by utilizing the CKMS model in managing knowledge of STaaS, the CoP can maximize the STaaS knowledge in the CKMS and furthermore to overcome the mistakes or errors, so that they can also delivered a good product as part of well services besides in enhancing the quality of software of the particular users.

Prevention of corrosion in RCC by Bacteria[ ]

Steel gets oxidise (corrosion) in the present of oxygen and water. Even present of oxygen in the concrete pore will not cause a corrosion at high alkaline environment. Concrete contains microscopic pores which contain high concentrations of soluble calcium, sodium and potassium oxides, this creates alkaline condition of pH 12-13. The alkaline condition leads to a ‘passive’ layer forming on the steel surface. The dense passive layer over the reinforcement prevents the alkalinity. This paper involves in the prevention of corrosion by maintaining alkalinity in concrete by using bacteria.

Prime Number Generation Using Genetic Algorithm[ ]

In the modern cryptography, the problem of the generation of large primes is considered as an important issue to implement public key crypto-scheme such as RSA and so on. Since a great amount of computational resources is generally required to generate a large prime number, it takes considerable amount of resource especially in embedded systems. In general, the prime number generation is started from the random number generation. If the generated random number is passed a specified probabilistic primality test, the random number is tentatively considered as a prime number and applied to a public key crypto-system. In many primality tests, a number of modular exponentiations are usually required. Hence these algorithms are considerably slow. Here we are introducing a new prime generation technique using GA which can be used to generate large primes in more efficient way.

Speed Control of Dc Motor Using Adaptive Techniques (MRAC)[ ]

Speed control is a common requirement in the industrial drives in the presence of varying operating conditions ie .load disturbance, parameter uncertainties and noise. Conventional controllers with fixed parameters are not successful in the real time applications because of the drift in the plants operating conditions. Adaptive control techniques are best suited for these situations. This paper presents a case study on speed control of dc drive using Model Reference Adaptive Control (MRAC). MRAC is one of the main adaptive control schemes. The fluctuation in load is assumed to be an input disturbance on the plant, which causes the deviation in the desired speed. In the literature various adaptive control algorithms have been developed. An adaptive algorithm by Ioannou [8, 9] is applied and simulations have been carried out for different values of load disturbances, parameter uncertainties and output measurement noise. The simulation results reported in this paper demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed controller against varying operating conditions.

The Analysis of Damping Force Characteristics of a Shock Absorber By Damping Force Testing Machine[ ]

The main effort is required to predict the damping characteristics of the shock absorber which helps to measure and compare its sensitivity. Accurate sensitivity prediction holds paramount importance for any product. That leads to achieve a smooth working and provides a long life of the shock absorber as well as vehicle system. Hence, there is a need to make use of an adequate model for accurate prediction of the sensitivity of a shock absorber. This result would help to know the sensitivity of a shock absorber in the different vehicles of the automobile industry. The damping characteristics gives the different values but the after the research and analyses of damping values we would make a sensitivity curve based on the different velocities which would help to categories the shock absorber according to their strength and qualities so that more accurate and efficient stability of vehicle can be obtained. This analysis is performed to understand the sensitivity of shock absorber by using damping force testing machine and the measures to improve it by analyzing the related parameters.

Study of Traffic and Road Maintenance in India[ ]

According to official statistics 141,526 persons were killed and 477,731 injured in road traffic crashes in India in 2014(NCRB, 2015). However, this is probably an underestimate, as not all injuries are reported to the police(Gururaj, G., 2006, Mohan, D. et al., 2009). The actual numbers of injuries requiring hospital visits may be 2,000,000-3,000,000 persons. The basis for these estimates is given in later section. The situation in India is worsening and road traffic injuries (RTI)have been increasing over the past twenty years (Figure 1). This may bepartly due to the increase in number of vehicles on the road but mainlydue to the absence of coordinatedevidence-basedpolicy to control the problem. These data show that the numberof fatalities hascontinued to increase at about sevenpercent a year over the past decade except over the last couple of years

A Comprehensive Study Of Execution Time For Row And Column Oriented Database[ ]

The size of data in various types of databases are increasing rapidly. At the same time, the performances of query against these same databases are degrading. There are two methods to implement a two-dimension relational database table onto a one-dimensional storage interface: store the table row-by-row, or store the table column-by-column. Traditionally, database system implementations and research have focused on the row-by row data layout, since it performs best on the most common application for database systems: business transactional data processing. However, there are a set of emerging applications for database systems for which the row-by-row layout performs poorly. The need for Column-oriented database arose from the need of business intelligence needed for efficient decision making where traditional Row-oriented database gives poor performance. We know that Business organizations have to handle large amount of data in database and extract meaningful information from that database for efficient decision making which is commonly termed as Business Intelligence. Extracting meaningful information from raw data is term as data mining. In this paper, we study the poor performance of row-by-row data layout for these emerging applications, and evaluate the column-by-column data layout opportunity as a solution to this problem. The solution will be analyzed and represented by graph. At the end of the paper we will see the performance of Oracle 10g.

A New Approach towards Least Significant Bits Information Hiding by Secure Data Splitting & Embedding Algorithm[ ]

An improved Least Significant Bits (LSB) information hiding is proposed according to Secure Data Splitting Algorithm and Data Embedding Algorithm and based on this, quality will be managed by PSNR (Peak Signal to Noise Ratio) and MSE (Mean Squared Error) control monochromic images. So mainly what we are going to do is that an effort has been made to propose and implement a new stegano graphic technique for images by modifying existing algorithms. This technique uses LSB steganography as our basis and disperses a secret message over the entire image taken by us to ensure that the secret message cannot be get from the image. When we compare with other existing algorithms, we can easily prove that the difficulty of decoding the proposed algorithm is high.

Emerging Needs Of Sustainable Technology- Solar Pv Development In India[ ]

Solar Power generation in India ranks within top five countries of world in Green energy revolution. Photovoltaic (PV) cells, or solar cells, are active photoelectric system converting sunlight to electricity. Small panels are constructed with semiconducting material based on photoelectric effect. The material, usually used comprises silicon with potentially other polycrystalline thin films, generating direct current when sunlight hits the panel. PV cells are successful in all regions of the world. Commercially available PV panels are about 22.5% efficient for conversion of sunlight into electricity under standard test conditions, but even in partially cloudy weather, they can operate at about 80% of their maximum output. In India Solar radiation available is more than 300 days amounting to about 3,000 hours of sunshine with power equivalent to 5,000 trillion kWh. India’s economic growth has been hindered by shortage of electricity since transmission and distribution losses have been extremely high over the years due to urban theft. This reached a worst proportion of about 24.7% during 2010-11. Thus, use of solar needs to be commercialized for economic development in India. Towards planetary mission, solar use is being promoted in applications like street-home lighting systems, solar Lanterns, PV power plants, water heaters, solar cookers, agro-photovoltaic pumps, large solar arrays, and solar powered portable lighting devices, rooftop panels, pedal powered classrooms, green parks, green cities, standalone and grid structures etc. The capital investment in establishment of solar unit is not too large since costs of land & building is not included. The machineries of the units are fabricated by suppliers or local engineering workshops. The plants can be installed in villages of small scale industry production catchment. Though India is the second largest rural agro industry in World, the Research and Development support is negligible towards use of solar in agro-systems designing, fabrication/ manufacturing, lay-out, installation, operationalization, maintenance of complete hard ware units as well as the product processes development, product manufacturing, product packaging, storage and marketing, etc. Considerable research work has been done at ICAR Institutions by NISE, SEC, MHRD and NGOs in this direction. However, visible impacts are not seen on the real ground perhaps due to low risk capacity, limited internal resources and poor access to solar resources in areas of these entrepreneurs. In this presentation the present status and future needs for technovations and management skill in the areas of solar power extraction efficiency, improved fill factor, better MPP tracking, value added techniques with applications and overall modernization of solar PV processing, storage and marketing, etc have been mapped and discussed.
