Outlier Detection using Supervised Machine Learning Algorithms[ ]

Outlier detection finds numerous uses and applications in different industries such as fraud detection, structural defect analysis, detecting mislabeled data and incursion detection. An outlier is a pattern which is different to other remaining patterns in the data set. This paper examines the different algorithms which can be used to detect outliers in a dataset, the principles governing its viability and the trade-offs between various methods. The paper also reviews the recent developments in the field and the future scope of research.

MULTI-WAVELENGTH STUDY OF NEW 95 GHz METHANOL MASERS[ ]

A multi-wavelength study has been conducted on the 95 GHz methanol maser source G010.3203-00.2589 with its BGPS counterpart G010.320-00.258. We have used data from GLIMPSE (3.6, 4.5, 5.8, 8.0 μm), MIPSGAL (24 μm), Hi-GAL (70, 160, 250, 350, 500 μm), ATLASGAL (870 μm) and BGPS (1.1 mm) catalogues to perform a spectral energy distribution analysis of 95 GHz methanol maser. The spectral energy distribution of the peak flux against wavelength reveals a skewed normal distribution with a correlation coefficient of -0.12967953 (-12.96%). From the analysis and Gaussian fitting, the source peaked at near-infrared 160 μm Hi-GAL waveband. We obtained a source temperature of 18.125 K and the source luminosity as 5.752×1018W which is equivalent to 1.5026×10-8 L⊙. This indicates that the source is still at infant stage compared to our Sun.

Classification Spectrum Data of Non-Invasive Blood Glucose Level Measure Using Ordinal Logistic Regression Method on Unbalanced Data[ ]

The use of this classification method tends to be effective in the case of data with a balanced grouping. In the classification method, sometimes for a researcher to find an unbalanced data condition in his research. Whereas in the case of unbalanced data is necessary to approach other statistical methods before reaching the stage of logistic regression. One statistical method for handling unbalanced data class cases is SMOTE.

Conventional Approaches to Providing Shelter and Services in Abuja, Nigeria: a Case of Urban Poor Housing Provisions[ ]

The concept of Abuja, Nigeria as a befitting Federal Capital Territory, centrally located and without the defects of Lagos was spawned in 1975. In the process, a Master Plan was established, but successive governments abused the Master Plan implementation. It was distorted, following different policy changes that resulted in Abuja slums and make-shift. This paper aimed at identifying a noticeable new phenomenon or rather the emergence of a new dimension in urban poor housing (settlements) in Abuja, characterized by the invasion of the formal residential areas by informal settlers.

Applications of Multi-Agent Systems in e-Health[ ]

Multi-agent systems have been notably contributing to the development of the theory and the practice of high-speed, mission-critical, content-rich, decentralized information systems where mutual interdependencies, dynamic environments, uncertainty, and sophisticated control play a singular role. Multi-agent systems can be considered a suitable technology for the development of healthcare applications where the use of loosely coupled and heterogeneous components, the dynamic and distributed management of data and the remote collaboration among users are often considered the most relevant requirements. This paper provides a structured enumeration of the most notable recent attempts to use multi-agent systems for healthcare.

Silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) were synthesized through sol-gel method. The prepared Ag NPs were characterized from various techniques such as X-ray diffractometer (XRD), Fourier Transform Infra Red (FTIR) Spectroscopy for structural property investigations and high resolution transmission electron spectroscopy (HR-TEM). It was observed that the Ag NPs were crystallized in face centered cubic crystal structure with an average crystalline average size of 25.4 nm as confirmed from XRD. Also HR-TEM studies reveal the formation of Ag NPs with face centered cubic nano structure.

Use of air bellows for low-speed drive mechanisms[ ]

Purpose. The monitoring at the enterprises of the mining and metallurgical industry showed that a number of machines and mechanisms require the organization of low rotational frequencies - 0.25 ... 15 r / min. To do this, use 2 ... 3 speed gearboxes, which complicates the design of the drive, reduces the reliability of its work and efficiency. To create a low-speed drive without the use of multi-stage gearboxes is proposed to use the original pneumatic actuator to solve this problem.

A NEW APPROACH TO VEHICULAR SUSPENSION[ ]

An active vehicular suspension consists of 8 degrees of freedom, The suspensions considered in vehicles are McPherson strut-type independent suspensions. Three cases of control strategies are taken into account. In the first case, only the passenger seat is controlled. In the second case, only the vehicle body is controlled. In the third case, both the vehicle body and the passenger seat are controlled at the same time. The non-linearity is due to the friction in the dampers. The time responses of the non-linear vehicle model due to road disturbance and the frequency responses of the harmonically linearised non-linear vehicle mode are plotted and discussed to obtain better performance.

Authentication of Secured Cloud Data Using Anonymous & Decentralized Access Control[ ]

A decentralized access control scheme for secure data storage in clouds that supports anonymous authentication. The cloud verifies the authenticity of the series without knowing the user’s identity before storing data. Our scheme also has the added feature of access control in which only valid users are able to decrypt the stored information. The scheme prevents replay attacks and supports creation, modification, and reading data stored in the cloud. We also address user cancel. Moreover, our authentication and access control scheme is decentralized and robust, unlike other access control schemes designed for clouds which are centralized.
