Human Computer Interaction and Security (HCI-Sec)[ ]

The rapid proliferation of internet and technologies create many security related issues in business and local environment. Although the growing use rate shows that, there is a demand and need, to develop applications therefore a secure web infrastructure is also required. It is shown that privacy issues are not taken seriously by users. To provide a secure environment to the users, HCI studies and theories help to developers as HCI is highly concerned about trust of user with their proprietary information as well as enhance system's quality. This paper is about to identify user's concern about HCI-Sec in applications to ensure their personal information and highlight usability of security features in systems.

Impact of Black Hole Attack on Reactive and Proactive Routing Protocols in MANET[ ]

Mobile Ad-hoc Networks (MANETs) is a self-configurable network, such that nodes connect and disconnect from the other nodes in the network automatically at any point in time. MANETs are vulnerable to various security attacks due to its characteristics of flexibility, distributed operation, node to node connectivity and so on. The focus of this work is on determining the effect of Black hole attack on MANET using Reactive routing Protocols - Ad-hoc On-Demand Routing protocol (AODV), and Temporally Ordered Routing (TORA); and Proactive routing Protocol - Optimized Link State Routing (OLSR) and Destination-Sequenced Distance- Vector (DSDV). Two network scenarios were simulated (with Black hole and without Black hole) using Network Simulator (NS-2.35) and the performance metrics considered are throughput, Packet Delivery Rate (PDR), and End to End Delay. The result showed that there were decrease in the throughput, Packet Delivery Rate and End- to-End Delay, when the network is under blackhole attack; this is more evident in AODV as compared to other routing protocols.

Symbolism Mirroring in Gloria Naylor's Linden Hills[ ]

Gloria Naylor ranks among writers like William Faulkner who popularized social issues including slavery that many American writers may not prefer to talk about. Naylor was very unapologetic in writing about racial and class discrimination, gender issues, sexuality and urbanization. Through her characters she showed how a black person could recreate real life images and stories. She utilized the redemptive power of language by revealing humiliation of the blacks. While the whole world mourns her death (September 2016), it would be a tribute to write about her artistic work. No doubt, Gloria Naylor was praised by literary critics for the richness of her language, depth and the variety of her characters. In addition, Naylor bravely took the black community to write for its development and color racism and at times, unhelpful nature of black male and female relationships.

Effect of the Dose and Frequency of IPM Lab Biopesticide on Collar Rot Incidence and Growth of the Indian Spinach[ ]

The effectiveness of integrated pest management (IPM) Lab biopesticide (Trichoderma based) in reducing collar rot disease and growth parameters of Indian spinach was studied. Five different levels of biopesticide (0, 10, 15, 20 and 25 g/m2 of soil) at two frequencies were applied in the soil. Biopesticide was first mixed up with top soil during final land preparation and then one month after transplanting with rhizosphere soil of the plants. Results showed that increasing biopesticide level up to 25g/m2 and its repeated application reduced collar rot disease incidence and increased growth parameters. Plant height, number of leaves and plant weight were markedly influenced by application of the biopesticide. Highest percent plant infection and lower growth were observed in the untreated plots. The highest dose (25g/m2) of biopesticide used in the experiment supported significantly better growth and lower collar rot disease incidence. Thus, the experimental results have opened up a possibility of using Trichoderma based IPM Lab biopesticide over conventional farming inputs for sustainable and organic production of agro products vegetables.
