Performance Evaluation and Comparative Study of Different High-K Poly-Si and Metal Gate Stack in MOSF[ ]

The unceasing demand of miniaturization has reduced the SiO2 gate dielectric layer thickness to nearly 5 atomic layers. Oxide breakdown due to hot electron tunneling is a critical concern at this level as it contributes to gate current leakage through the gate. Any further scaling is bound to increase the already tricky gate current leakage and lead to more power loss, increased power consumption and excessive heat generation. Materials with high dielectric constant, K, are required to reduce leakage and improve performance. In this paper, the use of High K dielectric material Hafnium Oxide (HfO2) over SiO2 as dielectric and metal gate over poly-Si gate were compared.

Performance Evaluation and Comparison of Ultra-thin Bulk (UTB), Partially Depleted and Fully Depleted SOI MOSFET using Silvaco TCAD Tool[ ]

Device miniaturization is an important part of VLSI design, which refers to reduction in dimension of device by keeping all other characteristic constant. As technology node is moving in submicron region, the performance of the device degrades due to short channel effects and narrow channel effects. The key issues due to these effects are drain- induced-barrier–lowering (DIBL), leakage current, hot electron reliability, punch through, sub-threshold slope, oxide breakdown, mobility, body effect, parasitic capacitance and parasitic resistance. In this paper, we have done in depth study of short channel effects. Then, we have provided their remedies by Substrate Engineering. The comparison of Ultra-thin bulk (UTB), Partially Depleted SOI MOSFET and Fully Depleted SOI MOSFET have been done by various performance parameters using Silvaco TCAD tool.

Fault Prediction in Ball Bearing by Using analytical wavelet transform (AWT)[ ]

The real-time condition monitoring is an advanced technique that predicts the real conditions of operation of the machinery. A predictive maintenance program includes various rotating machinery condition monitoring techniques of the machine to determine the conditions of failure. Over the past few years there has been a major technological developments related to digital system, including innovations in both hardware and software. In the present work, an experiment is carried out with a customized test setup where the seeded defects are introduced in the inner race and outer race of a radial ball bearing. The relationship between the acquired vibration data and their relation with the seeded defect is found in this paper. When experiment is performed on the test setup designed for Fault prediction, Analytical Wavelet Transform proved an effective tool for the analysis of vibration signal. In this work, AWT followed by the Power Spectral Density is implemented on vibration signals of a defective radial bearing.

A REVIEW PAPER ON ORTHOGONAL FREQUENCY DIVISION MULTIPLEXING (OFDM)[ ]

This paper discusses the structure and implementation of an OFDM modem employed in wireless communication. Orthogonal rate of recurrence Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is just about the latest modulation techniques used so that you can combat the frequency-selectivity from the transmission channels, achieving substantial data rate without inter-symbol disturbance. This technique is employed for bandwidth hogging applications including Video Conferencing, DAB, DVB, and many others. Multi-user capacity possible making use of MC-CDMA. OFDM is several techniques proposed to be employed in 4th Generation cellular Systems For the majority of all part, Orthogonal. The bit error rate along with the ISI in multipath surroundings in conventional techniques for instance QAM are very high which often can be reduced by putting into action the OFDM technique. Nonetheless, the occurrence of the actual potentially high peak-to-average electrical power ratio (PAPR) restricts the application.

PHOTONIC CRYSTAL FIBER- AN OVERVIEW[ ]

This review paper gives an overview on Photonic Crystal Fiber (PCF) & its applications. Photonic Crystal Fiber is also known as micro structured or Holey fiber. Photonic crystal fiber is preferred over optical fiber because of its high design flexibility. Photonic crystal fiber is actually an optical fiber with a periodic arrangement of low index material in a background with high refractive index material. Light can be guided inside the PCF by either modified total internal reflection or photonic band gap guidance. Discussion of PCF in this paper includes its fabrication as well as application. Two methods namely “Stack and draw technique” & “Extrusion fabrication process” are used for the fabrication.

IMPORTANCE OF PROSODIC FEATURES IN LANGUAGE IDENTIFICATION[ ]

Earlier Researches in LID systems found that inclusion of prosodic features (alike, speech rate, Fundamental Frequency and Syllable timing) offered a little to develop the performance of their systems. Focused study on the utility of prosodic feature is attempted to evaluate parameters to behold the fundamental frequency and amplitude contours on syllable – by-syllable bases. The timing relationship is computed from the F0 whereas histogram of features (feature pairs) are collected through amplitude information followed by computations of loglikehood ratio function for evaluating the unknown utterance (word/ speech) in a pair wise discrimination task.

Inter-Symbol Interference Reduction by Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing[ ]

This thesis will discuss the intersymbol interference reduction techniques. ISI can reduce by OFDM used in wireless communication. OFDM is a multipath communication system. In telecommunication, inter-symbol interference (ISI) is a sort of deformation of a sign. In ISI one symbol interferes with following symbols has similar effect as noise, therefore fixing the communication less consistent. ISI is usually caused by multipath propagation or the inherent non-linear frequency response of a channel causing successive symbols to “smear” together. The presence of ISI in the system introduces errors at the receiver output. Therefore, in the design of the transmitting and receiving filters, the objective is to minimize the effects of ISI, and thereby deliver the digital data to its destination with the smallest error rate possible.
