Structural Study on Iron Oxide Nanoparticles Prepared by Sol-Gel Method[ ]

Fine nanosized metal oxide namely, iron oxide (α-Fe2O3) has been synthesized by sol-gel method using Ferric Chloride as the starting precursor. X-ray diffraction (XRD) study has been conducted to identify the polymorph of the prepared iron oxide nanoparticles. From the study it was observed that the prepared nanoparticles exhibited rhombohedral α-Fe2O3 phase without any other phases magnetite (Fe3O4) or a mixture of magnetite (Fe3O4) and maghemite (γ-Fe2O3). All the structural parameters such as lattice constants, unit cell volume, density, crystalline size, micro strain, dislocation density, texture co-efficient were calculated from the XRD results.

Quality Management of the Architectural Design Phase in Professional Practices: RFIs as an Assessment Tool[ ]

Management is the key to the success of any project or process. Architectural Design Management is the management that takes place in the architectural office; during the design process. It tackles a wide range of issues amongst which are; Quality management, Time management, Financial Management among aspects. Practitioners of effective architectural design management should realize its multiple benefits and should see the facilitation in provides towards the success of the practice. It is necessary to satisfy all four pillars (scope, time, cost and quality) of an architectural project in order to reach a project balance. While three of these pillars are easily quantifiable, quality management remains a qualitative aspect, making it challenging to transform the aspects into measureable values and therefore making it difficult to find a calculated harmony/balance in-between these pillars. This research follows a deductive approach, exploring the basis of quality management and unearthing a metric tool that can be used to quantify the quality of the architectural product.

GAIN IN BANDWIDTH OF A MICROSTRIP ANTENNA WITH NEGATIVE INDUCTOR[ ]

4G communication requires high gain, easy integrated array circuits. Various communication systems require single radiating element operating in wide band. Microstrip antenna has all these advantages but it has some limitations like low gain, low bandwidth and surface wave propagation. Using negative inductor overcomes this disadvantage of Microstrip antenna. In this paper, an active integrated single patch Microstrip antenna is proposed and it’s radiating pattern and gain performance is optimized with analysis.

This research looks into the influence of web design, content and ease of use on users’ stance towards websites. Elements that reflect such stances or attitudes include user satisfaction, trust, usage intention, and willingness to recommend the site to others. For this study, the researches chose a convenience sample and a questionnaire distributed among Yemenis in Sana’a, Yemen. SPSS was used to analyze the responses to the questionnaire. Study outcomes revealed that the site’s content is of significance and more attention should be paid by retailers in this regard. Feedback from users should also be taken into high consideration. It was also found that users favor resorting to formal sources of information and users are more encouraged to use the site based on the level of ease of use and user experience. Good navigability and friendliness of a site are significant to encourage consumer usage of sites.

The Role of Environmental Quality on Healthy Urbanism Planning (Case Study of Soetomo General Hospital, Surabaya, Indonesia)[ ]

Healthy Urbanism is a concept of urban development that supports the improvement of environmental quality such as clean air and water. This is to provide comfort for the citizens of the city. The award of e-health received by Surabaya in 2015 also encouraged the urban government's desire to develop the city's attractiveness. The concept is supported by the availability of health facilities and infrastructure that are adequate and spread out flat in the city area. One area of the hospital with the spread of health facilities are quite a lot around the Soetomo General Hospital’s area. Referring to the background of the hospital, it is necessary to evaluate the environment of the hospital area. This research used direct observation to understand environmental quality in the hospital street area. This study can benefit to encourage the successful public space and comfortable environment by understanding the role of environmental quality in planning healthy urbanism.

Kalimas River and Pegirikan River are two structures that play an important role in forming settlements in the city of Surabaya. Along the banks of the river Kalimas and Pegirikan, there are early settlements that are now referred to as old kampung. The old kampung (early settlement) in Surabaya initially relied on the existence of Kalimas and Pegirikan river as the source of life and transportation. One of the old kampung is Kampung Ampel. As one of the old kampung in the city of Surabaya, Kampung Ampel certainly has its own history and peculiarities. To find out how strong the attachment of the inhabitants of Kampung Ampel to its place, it is necessary to study a place attachment in Kampung Ampel as the old kampung of Surabaya City.

Hardware Prototype Design for Real-Time Collision Detection and Prevention Application of VANET[ ]

Real-time embedded system design of Vehicular Ad hoc Network (VANET) application is discussed. Expansion of Internet of Things (IoT) has led to the presence of sensors and internet integration in most everyday objects. This paper describes the implementation of small-scale intra-vehicular and inter-vehicular VANET prototype with wireless sensor communication link for real-time collision prevention and detection. VANET technology is therefore, emerging as a new system to improve the safety of car drivers and passengers alike. Cars fitted with suitable sensors can display warnings about impending collisions due to over-speeding or rash driving as well as communicate with other vehicles through roadside infrastructure to detect accidents out of the visible range of drivers. Due to dynamic network topology of cars, it becomes difficult to deploy VANET system on a large-scale. In this paper, the implementation and working of a small-scale real-time VANET system prototype with three mobile nodes and one stationary node is achieved to enable future development and deployment.

COMPUTER SYSTEMS SERVICING ANDROID-BASED SIMULATION: A STRATEGIC MOBILE LEARNING MODEL FOR STUDENTS WITH LEARNING DISABILITY[ ]

The Department of Education (DepEd) has been providing quality and inclusive education for all. Several laws and policies were made to protect the rights of learners with special educational needs to gain equal access to education. One of which is the “No Child Left Behind Act of 2010”. This is a policy that protects and promotes the right of the citizens to quality education and to take appropriate steps to make such education accessible to all. The Education for All (EFA) movement is a global commitment to provide quality basic education for all children, youth and adults. The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act or IDEA is a law that ensures that students with special needs receive appropriate free public education in the least restrictive environment necessary to meet those students’ needs. It helps students receive the extra assistance they need but allows them to participate in the same activities as children without special needs whenever possible.

Role of Media in Disseminating Conflict Resolution at Democratic Republic of Congo[ ]

United Nations mission has been arrayed in hostile environments duly faced by multiple contingencies, which require an innovative response from the forces deployed known as peacekeepers. United nations follow the potential of ‘soft’ and ‘hard’ power for the all the contingencies uprising in peacekeeping missions. This paper is an effort to highlight few of the potentials of “soft’ power in the context of the utilization of ‘hard’ power being deployed in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). The main actor in the in disseminating conflict resolution is the ‘media’ itself. United nations have employed peacekeepers instead of peace builders in the region. All organizations of united nations are focused on the aim of ‘building peace’. MONUSCO is one of the organizations working effectively in DRC, starting from public affairs to civil-military cooperation. At this edge, an important question arises about the competency, effectiveness, and role being played by ‘soft powers’ itself for the conflict resolution in DRC. It is a sarcasm; media is unable to bring awareness about most of the situation in the region. This research paper endeavors to unfold a way forward to meet this shortcoming via recommendations for the suitable outcome in the paraphernalia.
