Disaster Mitigation Assessment on Railway[ ]

Disaster is an event or series of events that threatens and disrupts people's lives and livelihoods which are caused, both by natural and/or non-natural factors as well as human factors, resulting in human casualties, environmental damage, property losses, and psychological impacts. Causes of disasters are grouped into three types, namely disasters caused by natural, non-natural, and social factors. Disaster risk reduction strategies should become a common understanding at the regional, national, regional, and international levels. Railways are one of the ones that will be affected by a disaster.

Operations Research Applications of Queuing theory in a fast food restaurant[ ]

Bob's burrito is a fast-food chain in Bath. Like every other restaurant, it aims to serve maximum customers with efficiency and find out how to achieve the end objective; we will use queuing theory, which will help us establish a thumb rule for the same. Queuing theory is a study of waiting lines. A 95% confidence level was used in the analysis. After mathematical analysis, we can establish the prediction of waiting time and queuing line, which will help Bob's burrito understand the pattern and work to serve maximum customers. The data used in the research paper was collected through surveys. The paper concludes with the limitations of queuing theory.

JUDICIAL CORRUPTION: AN ASSESSMENT OF THE IMPLICATION FOR NIGERIA[ ]

Judicial corruption is a disease that has been ravaging Nigeria for a very long time. Scholarly studies have described it as the worst type of corruption since it has failed in defending society against corrupt public officers. This study, therefore, examines some high profile corruption cases that were leveled against judges in recent times vis-a-vis the socio-economic implications of such cases on the larger society.

THE IMPACT OF USING COMPUTER SIMULA-TIONS ON THE PERFORMANCE OF GRADE 11 LEARNERS IN PREPARATION OF SOLUBLE SALTS[ ]

The research effort examined two study areas. Firstly, the impact of using computer simulations on the performance of grade eleven leaners in preparation of soluble salts. Secondly, the study focused on assessing learner attitudes towards the teaching methods. The computer simulated method which was used as a treatment showed a statistically significant rise in the conceptual understanding and performance of the preparation of soluble salts by the experimental group in comparison with the control group at alpha level of 0 .05.

DSIM for Electric vehicles applications[ ]

The latest developments in the research area are mostly confined to designing and developing of electrical machines, drives and control in concern with renewable energy is the most happening area in the current scenario. This has gained popularity and importance recently, since many of the developed countries like France; Germany etc. have already declared the deadlines as 2030 to shift completely on to non-conventional energy sources. Hence this area of renewable energy is being explored as one for the most practical and useful applications.

SYCAMORE ALGORITHM FOR ADDRESSING CLIMATE CHANGE[ ]

The development of revolutionary technologies and the reduction of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere are the two effective strategies in dealing with current environmental issues. In the context of climate change, one goal will be to find an efficient catalyst for carbon Removal/Fixation—a process that reduces carbon dioxide by turning it into valuable chemicals. Our team has prioritized making an impact on this global issue which is developing a new quantum algorithm to simulate catalytic processes. A universal quantum computer has the potential to fundamentally change computational chemistry and areas in which strong electron correlations present severe hurdles for traditional electronic structure methods.

The Time Theory of the Universe[ ]

“Time, a determinant of weather-invoking occurrence as heat or cold for transformation of matter into solid, liquid or gas at needed conditioning level explains why particle is an intrinsic property of matter which is wave or particle in behaviour as it navigates through its various forms in necessitated space of compactness for mass, densely spaced for liquid and sparsely spaced for gas, for “time” is a glue for all the four forces of the universe as one Master “Key” that operates THE UNIVERSE by worth, reality and energy.”

TECHNOLOGY-DRIVEN EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE APPRAISAL SYSTEM[ ]

According to several studies, employee performance appraisal is the single most important management tool for any well-managed, sophisticated organization. However, developing an effective employee appraisal system remains to be accomplished in spite of several previous attempts to do so. This study focused on: identifying the various techniques used in appraisal process; identifying the types and sources of errors in the appraisal process; identifying all known metrics of performance appraisal measurement; identifying all the elements that should constitute an effective employee performance appraisal system and finally establishing the relationship between a technologically-driven employee performance appraisal system and employees’ perception of justice with the appraisal process.

Evaluating the impacts of SO2 emissions from power stations in Kuwait[ ]

The ISC-AERMOD dispersion model has been used to study the impact SO2 emitted from power stations in Kuwait. SO2 emissions from fifteen stacks were studied to evaluate the pollutant dispersion patterns and the risk of nearby populations being negatively affected by such emission. One year’s meteorological data was used for simulating the ground level concentrations of SO2.

Detection and Recognition System for Car Number License Plates using Convolution Neural Networks[ ]

Automatic license plate recognition (ALPR) system is intelligent system to find the exact license plate by analyzing image and video data. The ALPR has three key steps: location of the license plate (LP), segmentation and recognition of optical character (OCR). In real conditions, each step requires different techniques, and each technique has its specific characteristics. The process of Vehicle License Plates (VLPR) is difficult because of changes in the view, shape, color, multiple formats and uniform lights when you acquire pictures. After segmentation algorithms, LP localization techniques will detect the LP and isolate each character from the other. Finally, the OCR step is used to recognize the individual characters.
