Online handwriting recognition systems [ READ ]

Dramatic increase of computational devices has increased the use of input methods that are not natural to the human. There are many occasions where handwriting is preferred over making entries with a keyboard. On-line handwriting recognition is a trending and highly anticipated area of research where it comprises of natural textual inputs through handwriting rather than using a keyboard. These systems take inputs through the digitizer from the user and then process those data and convert them to characters which can be recognized by a computer. This paper focuses on the different systems that are present, their differences and issues that are related to them. It is concentrated on the general process of a handwriting recognition system and the processes that are incorporated in order to make the recognition more fast and accurate.
