INTRODUCTION

•••Evaluating the Household Determinants of Diarrheal Diseases in children in resource constrained settings: A Review of Literature and Design of an Intervention Plan

I acknowledge with thanks the immense support, guidance and contribution of my supervisor, Prof Lars Smedman, to the successful completion of this thesis work. My profound gratitude goes to the European Union Commission for granting me the Erasmus Mundus Scholarship for the period of my M.Sc program. I also thank all my lecturers in Charite Medical School Berlin, the University College London (UCL) and the Karolinska Institute (KI) for the knowledge they have impacted on me most of which I have had to apply in the course of this project. Most especially, I wish to use this medium to say a big thank you to Dr Asli Kulane, whose tremendous efforts and support have made this thesis work possible. My profound gratitude goes to Dr Carsten Mantel for given me the basic tools at the start of my M.Sc that eventually provided the foundation knowledge for my course. I appreciate the staff and personnel of the Ipaja/Ayobo development area authority who provided me with valuable information on the proposed study area and my daddy, Capt R.T. Adelakin (rtd) who served as an important conduit in this process.
