TOPIC.Comparison of the average pregnancy age between the two groups (vaginal delivery vs. caesarean section) for 629 pairs Mother-baby[ ]

This study shall include all births concluded in the intensive care unit during 2013-14, carried out at “Mbretëresha Geraldinë” University Hospital Center of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Tirana. The study is retrospective. The number of babies involved is 629, of which 154 (24.5%) were normal deliveries and 475 (75.5%) were C-section ones. According to the results, it is clearly noticed a considerable growth of the number of C-section deliveries which have been transferred at the intensive care unit. The prevalence of serious conditions (problematic diagnosis) is much higher among C-section delivery (44.4%) versus vaginal delivery (18.8 %%) and this difference is statistically highly significant. (P<0.001).

DESIGN OF AN ELECTRICAL DISTRIBUTION NETWORK WITHIN DAMATURU[ ]

This project presents a novel method for designing of an electrical power distribution network within Damaturu town with highly accurate-efficiency. The design involves the task of designing a new electrical power distribution network that will be efficient and reliable. The town is been supply by 2 x 7.5MVA transformers which became grossly overloaded due to the frequent increases in demand because of the series of developmental projects. The capacities of all the transformers were taken and the percentage loading of the whole injections substation were calculated. Suggestion is being made as for the capacities of power transformers that can accommodate the future load to avoid any problem of power demand factor. The new design recommended to use 2 x 7.5MVA transformers, one transformer will supply the Alimarami Feeder while the other one will serves the Maiduguri road feeder thereby, tackling the problems of over loading on the installed injection substation transformers and the distribution transformers. The work recommended using 2 x 7.5MVA transformers at the injection substation. The project is designed in such a way that it has to be implemented at stages which gives wide choice of procedures.

Design of Concrete Pavement (A Case Study of Farm Road, Along Zaria-Sokoto Road, Nigeria)[ ]

The aim of this research article is to justify the use of concrete pavement and to design a good concrete pavement that will be durable and serve the community, for its design life without any failure or problem. A traffic count has been conducted to determine the Annual Daily Traffic Flow (ADTF). This was used to determine the growth rate at the design period, which was found to be 3% growth rate. The results were presented below: sub-grade type was normal; and the minimum thickness of the Sub-Base required was 80mm. While the minimum thickness of the concrete slab (unreinforced) required was 155mm. The cumulative number of common vehicles (Tn) was 0.44x106 cum.no.com.veh. The cumulative equivalent number of standard axle (T) was 0.2x106 standard axle. Materials such as cement content, fine aggregate, coarse aggregate, and water were determined as 1014611kg, 1623375.24kg, 2435067.36kg and 209kg/m3 respectively. The total estimated cost of cement, fine aggregate, coarse aggregate, and water were calculated as #15219750, #650000, #2435000, and #50731 respectively, amounting to #18,355,481 only.

Oral cleanliness and gingival health condition in relation to body mass index and certain salivary immunoglobulin among tonsillectomies children[ ]

Background: The tonsils are clumps of tissue on both sides of the back of the throat. Tonsillitis is an infection of the tonsils caused by a virus or bacteria. surgery to remove the infected tonsils was a common procedure. they're usually only recommended if tonsillitis is severe, occurs frequently and doesn't respond to other treatments. Obstructive tonsils became currently the most common indication for tonsillectomy in children. Tonsillectomy reduces total salivary immunoglobulin, but overall antimicrobial defense is unimpaired. This study was conducted to evaluate the oral hygiene and certain salivary immunoglobulin in a group of tonsillectomies children.

Antibacterial and antioxidant activities of essential oils extracted from Iraqi coriander (Coriandrum sativum L.) seeds[ ]

This study focuses on extraction of essential oils from Iraqi seeds of Coriander plant (Coriandrum sativum L.). The yield of essential oils was 2 % (V: W) of seed, analyzed by the GC- mass technique. The essential oil contained 35 varieties of compounds, with Linalool (59.14 %) compound prevailing in the essential oils extract. The essential oils of Coriander have antibacterial activity against G+ and G- bacteria. Leuconostoc mesenteroides had the most inhibition while E. coli ATCC 25922 had the lowest inhibition after the addition of essential oils concentrations. After the end storage period which is 25 days, peroxide values and fatty acids % of fat milk samples were decreased when increase the concentrations of essential oil added compared with the BHA sample.

A comparative study of dose transmission factor of ADDIBOND 65 based material used for Am-Be neutron source shielding[ ]

This article introduces present neutron shielding materials with ADDIBOND 65 based materials. The method has a lot of advantage such as The success these materials low density and have better and low neutrons transmission trends, increases the strength properties, Improves the impermeability of cement mortar and increases resistance to chemicals and salts when The most important of the proposed method can be used successfully in the neutron therapy systems. Neutron can be prodused by many processes which include nuclear reactions induced by alpha particles , nuclear reaction induced by accelerated beams of light ions, fission and spallation reaction. The article has a lot of advantages, it improves the impermeability of cement mortar and increases resistance to chemicals and salts, increases the strength properties has no harmful effect.
