In the late seventies, the Egyptian government decided to establish new urban communities on the edge of Great Cairo Region (GCR) to provide different types of housing, services, facilities, job opportunities and facing escalating population growth. Gated communities spread vastly in the Egyptian real estate market especially among the rich people due to privacy, prestige, quality of life, segregation, separation from their community. Soon their demands became a target model for less economic classes as well.
