Development and Sustainable Environmental preservation
Emad Mubarak
In the broader sense, Tourism plays a major role in bringing the multinationals on one platform that
cultivates understanding, develop good relationship and brings about love and harmony among the
comity of nations. The whole world has now become a Global Village. The people’s tendency is to
enlighten themselves by visiting various countries, see the peoples and their living conditions, civilization,
culture and mode of living. Moreover, peoples are ambitious to refresh their minds, need change of
climate, weather by visiting various countries and enjoy mixing up with the variety of the universe. Since
the world has become a Global Village, the peoples have strong inclination and natural tendency to become
closer. The electronic media, print media and publications of books on tourism have created in the mind of
the peoples to come closer and see their behavior, colour and the way of living and their country’s weather

Firstly, the first and the foremost problems of Tourism are the lack of safety and protection of the lives of the Tourists during visiting the intended countries. The international community and the countries have their political problems and adverse relations with different countries, which lead to enmity among them. So, some of them try to create problems and develop a sense of bad relationship by attacking the people of various nationalities. The enemies
strike the tourist in order to show that the
visiting tourists have been attacked by the people
of visiting country thus creating bad relationship
between them. (UNWTO, 2011)
Secondly, the terrorists try their level
best to destabilize the countries politically by
harassing the people by explosions and killing by
various acts of terrorism. By creating
deteriorating situation in the various countries,
the terrorists try to scare the tourists from
visiting the intending country showing the
country is destabilized and unsafe to tourism. In
view of such situation, the tourists feel
unprotected and uncertain about their lives
protections thus avoid visiting such country.
Resultantly, this situation has negative impact on
tourism.
These problems need to be addressed strongly by the governments of various countries in order to pave the way for tourists to feel that their lives are safe and protected and they are welcome by the visiting country and the environment are pleasant in all respects and they will feel honored to have world community visiting their countries. Rumors must be set aside by advertising and inviting international tourist
to feel that they have will have pleasant tour of
those countries. These feelings in tourists will
certainly enhance tourism and will attract more
and more tourists worldwide. Ultimately, those
countries that provide safety and security of the
lives of tourists prove to be the world of the
tourist spots and are haven for the visiting the
tourists.
The sector of Tourism plays a major role
in developing the economy of its country. The
touring spot attracts a large number of visitors
the whole year. Thus it becomes the focal point
in all over the countries and has respect in the
comity of nations. Simultaneously, the tourists
are also benefitted by refreshing themselves and
knowing the culture, civilization and heritage of
the visiting country. The tourists get a lot of
knowledge in various aspects of their lives. They
enhance their knowledge and up to date
information of regarding developments and
latest knowledge in various fields of education.

The tourist carry with them back to their country such information and take advantage for their children to enhance their knowledge and bring them at par with the developing and the developed countries.
At the same time, the governments concerned must pay attention to the environment of the area of visits in order these are not spoiled by the visitors. The visitors must be accorded friendly reception by the tourist companies and visitors must feel at home during their stay in the country of visit. It is the responsibility of the governments concerned to investigate and address the problems and possible reasons. (Picard)These problems must be solved in order to create pleasant atmosphere for the tourists.
Who will benefit?
Some stakeholders are always on fast
track to bring about all facilities Visa for their
intended tourists and provide all required
information to their agents to make timely
arrangement possible and facilitate to meet the
requirements and avoid any botheration and
trouble for make all the arrangements on the
international level. The healthy competition in
the stakeholders brings about bring in the quality
products placed before the tourist and they do
not compromise on the quality products thus
enjoying more sale and generate revenue.
However, poor management and ill planned arrangements will prove to be disastrous in tourism and the tourists will lose their interest to visit the degrading situation of tourism in that country. Hence, the tourism sector will lose its attraction and will be at the disadvantage of the country’s revenue in the tourism sector.
The competition leads to the display of quality products at the gift shops and this will support the client’s needs and requirements. The varieties of the products and services provided
to clients will receive due attention and
attraction and will satisfy the client and produce
tendency of purchase of the products and avail
the services. (UNESCO INTERNATIONAL

Tourism has both negative and positive
impact on the communities, where businesses
benefit from it the resident’s associate negative
impacts of it; these include congestion,
overcrowding higher prices. Even where the
industry has accepted it as necessary component
it is still faced with a lot of resentment. The
government should ensure that the communities
who are directly involved in tourist sites or are
affected by it should be a part of the
development or sustainable community or
group. It should be ensured that these residents
form a community or group which participates
and ensures the maintenance of these sites and
they should be given incentives and appreciation

to develop the tourists which is an essential part of the industry. The benefits of tourism should be stated and reiterated to these communities and they should be made an active part of the development of these sites. This would ensure a strong community formation and lessen the resentment amongst people/residents. This would be a unique way to develop and enhance the tourism product.

Tourism brings about peace and
harmony on the international level and brings
the national closer and closer. The people know
each other and understand and benefit from
views of the visiting countries. They get the
information about their heritage, living standard,
level of education, infrastructure and the pace of
development in various fields. The tourists carry
back with them to their countries and take
advantage of them as far as possible. In general,
the tourism plays manifold roles in the comity of
nations and brings them on one plate form in all
aspects of life. Therefore, it is evident that
tourism addresses social, economic, and
environmental problems brings about possible
solution. It is evident that the tourism generate
sizable revenue of tourist country and due
attention is to be paid to this sector in order to
bring about the stability and growth of economy.
United Nations has created in the minds
of world inhabitants, the sense of becoming
closer by visiting each other’s country. So, this
attitude refreshes the minds of the people by
knowing and understanding each other. As a
result, the governments of the various countries
have realized the pressing need of focusing on
Tourism thus paved the way for their tourists to
visit the countries of their own choice leading to
the benefit of the tourists of the relevant
countries.
The governments of the touring
countries must make ensure that ecology of
touring spots must be presentable and attractive
to the tourists. They must provide all facilities to
the tourist who must feel comfortable and
satisfied during their period of visit. The facilities
of hotels, restaurants, mode communication and
travel & journey within the country to the
visiting spots must be worthwhile in order to
keep the visiting tourists happy, satisfied and
cheerful and leave a pleasant impression on their
minds to visit again and recommend others to
visit the country thus increasing the country’s
economy and fame worldwide.
Rapid international change and closeness of the world community and swift movements, tourism has proved to meet the human need. Similarly tourism and travel of the people in the world has a great impact on the diversity of cultural heritage. Tourism has the importance on the cultural resources and can be utilized in reducing poverty in the people of the world. UNESCO with its diverse members in public and private fields has arranged dialogue, research and planning to alleviate poverty through journeys and tourism to achieve sustainable development in economy and reduce poverty in the world community.
The tourism industry needs understand and realize that there can be no miracle that would transform the future towards sustainability and make it more viable. The need to develop long term policies as well short term
policies is essential to assure that tourism growth occurs in a socially and economically responsible way. The environment we are directing to preserve has to be a collective effort. The role of the government is as important as the role of the stakeholders. Environmental planning for
tourism must be looked upon in a very critical
manner by the government. Initiatives must be
taken by the government in the field of
sustainable tourism. Collectively, the private and
the public sector must work towards the
betterment of this area under concern.
Raising awareness regarding this issue is one of the important recommendations to be made here. It is needed that awareness is created about the fragility of the heritage sites.
Preserving of these sites has always cost enormous amounts of money. Its maintenance and development requires a great deal of money and effort of the concerned individual. Educating visitors regarding this imperative point is crucial. They must respect the efforts and money spent in maintaining these sites. Also the historical artifacts for instance require a great deal of effort to be restored and maintained. It is important
they understand that keeping history alive is not
an easy task. For tourists/ visitors the touching of
a statue or removing of a piece of mosaic may
not have a significant effect but on the whole it
has consequences which is only understood by

the people who put in their daily efforts to reserve it and maintain it daily, weekly, fortnightly or monthly.
Carefully managing and developing our tourism is what I called sustainable tourism. (www.ukessays.com) It requires a sensible approach and considering the continued growth of tourism the sustenance of this tourism becomes indispensable.
